Classically stylish, with a rich heritage. Full of character and old-school charm. Built to last and gets better with age. All qualities which define what it means to be ‘quintessentially English’ – and which perfectly describe both Globe-Trotter and The Goring Hotel in London.
Globe-Trotter dates back to 1897, and The Goring hotel opened in 1910, resulting in a combined 219 years of experience in looking after luxury travellers.
Each case is handmade on original Victorian machinery at the Globe-Trotter factory in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire. The Goring Hotel edition is hand crafted from Ivory vulcanised fibreboard, with the Goring Hotel brand colours of Burgundy and Navy being used for the leather trim. Inside, each case is hand lined with a rich damask silk, a perfect miniature of the silk wall covering used in the Drawing Room of The Royal Suite at The Goring. The historic silk was specially woven to order from The Gainsborough Silk Company, the Royal Warrant-holding Suffolk textile mill that holds an archive of over 7,000 historic and enchanting silks. Originally commissioned for Lullingstone Castle in Kent, one of England’s oldest family estates dating back hundreds of years, the Green and Ivory design of the silk brilliantly complements the Ivory exterior of the Globe-Trotter Goring Hotel series.
David Morgan-Hewitt, Managing Director of The Goring says:
“I have been lucky enough to be the proud owner of a set of Globe-Trotter cases for many years. I noticed that my love of them was shared by a number of our guests as they arrived in the lobby, so this feels like a natural partnership. The Goring has always championed British craftsmanship and history, so we are thrilled to be working with Globe-Trotter to create a little bit of England to take home – and abroad!”
Gary Bott, Creative Director of Globe-Trotter said:
“The Globe-Trotter Goring Hotel edition, resplendent with silk from The Royal Suite, looks wonderful and captures the essence of our two companies. These suitcases are timelessly stylish – and will just get better and better with age, as they become much-loved travel companions.”
The Globe-Trotter and Goring Hotel collection is available in nine sizes including 9″ Mini Utility £485, 13″ Vanity Case £780, 18″ Trolley Case £1,150, 21″ Trolley Case £1,270, 28″ Suitcase with Wheels £1,500, 30″ Extra Deep Suitcase with Wheels £1,580 and 33″ Extra Deep Suitcase with Wheels £1,680.

Globe-Trotter are extremely proud to announce its very special involvement in the latest James Bond film, SKYFALL, starring Daniel Craig. This is the biggest partnership Globe-Trotter has ever undertaken in their 115 year history, and who better to partner with than 007 himself, a true British icon.
For SKYFALL, the production team required a rifle case and Globe-Trotter were called on board to produce a bespoke piece to the specification of the rifle used in the film. Working closely with the film’s armorer, Globe-Trotter developed something truly unique, inspired by Bond gadgetry of the past. Months were spent perfecting the design and finer details, which included developing a bespoke telescopic sight for the rifle. The traditional case was transformed into something truly unique that had never been produced by Globe-Trotter before.
In celebration of this partnership, and inspired by the rifle case produced for the film, Globe-Trotter will be retailing a highly limited collection of products from Friday 5th October, Global Bond Day. Not only do the pieces celebrate the launch of SKYFALL, they also honour the 50th Anniversary of James Bond.
From Friday 5th October, for a limited period, three collections of new products will be available in the Globe-Trotter flagship Burlington Arcade store. The most exclusive, and highly limited, edition is inspired by the rifle case itself. This hand formed slim line 26″ Black Aluminium Suitcase features a telescopic sight handle – a replica of the original used in the film, finished off beautifully with a plush diamond quilted Graphite lining and commemorative internal plaque. This series is limited to 100 editions globally.
There is also a special edition range of luggage hand crafted from Globe-Trotter’s signature vulcanised fibreboard. In a range of sizes, from 16″ Slim Attaché to 33″ Extra Deep Suitcase with Wheels, the series is formed from Black vulcanised fibreboard with Black Box Grain leather trim and Chrome locks. Inside, each case is beautifully lined with a jacquard weave featuring the iconic Bond gun barrel design, and finished with unique 007 serial number plaque.
Finally, also available is a capsule collection of Bond leather products, all handcrafted at the new Globe-Trotter leather factory in Hertfordshire. Inspired by the sophistication and style of James Bond, each item is crafted with luxurious Black Box Grain leather and lined with the jacquard weave gun barrel fabric, finished with a painted edge and internal blind emboss logo. Items include a Luggage Tag, Passport Cover, Notebook, Wash Bag, Bill Fold Wallet, Coat Wallet, Travel Wallet and Card Holder.

|Harrods today unveiled their extravagant window display in celebration of Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee. The iconic green conopies have been temporarily removed, and replaced with a patriotic display of Union Jacks and 31 crowns, decorated by 31 of the world’s leading brands, including Globe-Trotter.
The display takes inspiration from the Queen’s Coronation in 1953, with Union Jacks lining the store’s facade as well as two 50 foot tall regal banners, heralding the Queen’s cypher and St. Edwards Crown. The theme continues as speakers have been installed on the outside of the building so they can play the National Anthem every day at midday until 15th June. During the Jubilee weekend of 2nd June ‘God Save The Queen’ will be broadcast hourly between midday and 6pm.
Globe-Trotter are proud to be part of this celebration, especially given the long standing history between the company and the Royal Family. The Queen choose Globe-Trotter luggage for her honeymoon, and still travels with her cases to this day. The Globe-Trotter crown on display at Harrods is a vision of traditional Navy, featuring iconic rivets and leather. Head down to the famous department store in Knightsbridge before 15th June to catch a glimpse of this beautiful display.

Hector Lloyd has created a series of beautifully playful illustrations exclusively for Globe-Trotter, documenting the heritage and lifestyle of the suitcases in a new and imaginative sense.
Hector’s style is unique and draws inspiration from people, buildings, vehicles and animals. Having grown up reading the Tintin and Asterix comic books, he has been exploring his creativity since he was a child, developing his style with a twist of gentle humour and eye for detail. His illustrations begin life as simple line drawings, which are gradually built into grander scenes, and are usually coloured digitally. Hector’s talent landed him a place as a finalist in the Macmillan children’s book competition of 2011 for his book ‘Eggsodus’ concerning the life of beings on an overcrowded planet.
The series of seven illustrations captures the essence of Globe-Trotter travel and the spirit of adventure.
These illustrations are available in five screen sizes to download as desktop wallpapers from the Globe-Trotter Facebook page.
